Passport control for your résumé

Your American résumé, stamped into a Portuguese CV.

Portugal leans on the Europass-style CV — clearly labelled sections, Portuguese headings, and personal details a US résumé leaves off. Yours comes back reformatted to suit, in about a minute, without inventing a thing.

The whole journey, at a glance

US résumé to Portugal CV — the differences, the steps, and the honest promise.

The honest part

We reformat what you wrote. We never invent what you didn't.

Where a Portuguese CV needs something only you can supply, we flag it for you to add rather than making it up — we never fabricate a profile, an employer, a qualification, a photo, or a date of birth. The facts stay yours; only the format changes. A Portuguese CV often carries a photo, date of birth, and nationality. We never create those — where a convention expects data only you can supply, we flag it for you to add.

Questions

Is a Portuguese CV different from a US résumé?+

Yes. Portugal uses a Europass-influenced CV (Currículo) with clearly labelled sections — professional profile, Experiência Profissional (Work Experience), Formação Académica (Education), and so on — and often expects personal details a US résumé omits. This tool reformats a US résumé into that structure.

Will it translate my CV into Portuguese?+

No. It writes the section headings in Portuguese (with an English gloss) and reformats the structure, but it does not translate the content of your experience. Your bullet points stay in the language you wrote them — and English CVs are widely accepted in Portugal too.

Do I need a photo on a Portuguese CV?+

Portuguese employers commonly expect a photo, date of birth, and nationality. We never add any of those for you — if you want to include them, add them yourself after downloading.
